January 17, 2024 Community Meeting
Attendees: Board – Conley, Jim, David, Ashley, Sarah, Lee
Trustees – Leon, Shomari, Marshall, Dave.
Community – approximately 8 members
Meeting commenced at 7:01 PM
1. Welcome and Introductions
2. Secretary’s Report – November minutes on-line, approved.
3. Treasurer’s Report – at year end 2023, there was $94K of income, $86K of Expenses and $8K of profit –
much of which is earmarked for programming in 2024. We are in solid shape for the upcoming year.
4. Preparedness Committee – Nicole and Tom discussed interest in working with island park/hummocks
to bring issues of common concern to town.
5. Trustee Report – bylaws are signed and will be filed with the state.
6. Kids Report- huge success at kid’s story time and toy swap
7. Event Committee –Winter Wonderland Ball 2/10 – Neil and the Vipers will be playing. Tickets go on sale
to the public on Friday.
8. Old Business:
1. Pond- DPW and conservation commission have been here to look. 3 estimates on pond
restoration. Applying for grant from DEM
2. Donor Wall- waiting on confirmation from remaining families for correct names for wall.
3. Yard Waste in Salt Marsh on Attleboro- no updates
9. New Business:
1. All abilities program expanded to VFW. Renting additional space.
2. All abilities showcase Sat Feb 3 rd @ 2pm
3. New art exhibit group starting soon
